Human Outreach Project (HOP) is a 501 c3 non-profit charitable organization conceived out of the idea that climbers and trekkers could – and should - give back to communities surrounding expedition sites. The communities HOP strives to reach include remote areas in Africa, Asia, and South America. Climbers taking part in guided expeditions with World Wide Trekking (WWT) access these regions as part of their trip. The durable partnerships established with communities have as their defining characteristics, the needs being identified by the local people, a long-term commitment, and a collaborative effort to contribute to sustainable solutions. 

In its early years HOP focused on the provision of basic medical, dental, and education supplies to impoverished communities – in particular orphans - in Nepal and Tanzania. Working with local community leaders, HOP has evolved into an organization with a special commitment to the health, educational, and developmental needs of children living in orphanages adjacent to expedition sites.
